As with the majority of the last few weeks, it was again challenging for the field as they teed off in the club’s Stroke competition.  Very cold air, soft fairways, fast greens and a NE wind gusting to over 30Kph made it a tough day to post a good score.  The conditions made for inconsistent golf but once players became used to the greens scoring improved.  While a  number of player had far better back nines the damage had been done.  Club captain, Mal Mottram made space for two special awards to Steve Wilkins and Anthony Lakey for their courageous yet futile attempts to hit balls out of the dam; both balls stayed in the dam!  On a cool, windy afternoon, with only one player coming close to his handicap, the results were;

1st; Andrew Clement – 81/8/73

2nd; Mick Squire – 81/5/76 C/B

3rd;  Davey Kenney – 88/12/76 C/B Andrew Laing.

NTPs1st;  Steve Wilkins, 15th; Mitch Atlas, 16th; Andrew Clement
