The good weather from late in the week continued and play began on a beautiful, sunny late winter’s day with  a gentle wind from the NE.  The semi-finals of the W. E. Tom Shield looked to be a little one sided but all golfers know, the  golf gods frown on those who take things for granted.  The remainder of the field played Stableford.  Despite the generally good condition it proved more than challenging to post a good score.  The Semi-finals of the W. E. Tom shield ran well into the back nine but the low markers were able to handle the condition better.  On a wonderful, “springish” day the results were;

1st; Kieth Hocking (27) -32 pts

2nd; Andrew Clement (12) –  31 pts C/B

3rd; Scott Williams (152) – 31 pts
