The weather was particularly chilly with the temperature at 9° as players teed off and only managing to reach 14° by the end of the round. The course was in great condition. The 5th fairway was inundated with water from a leaking pipe but, as is typical of our great band of volunteers, the problem was attended to within minutes of it being reported.  We are so lucky to have the people we do who use their expertise and time to keep everything running on the course. Foursomes often proves difficult to score well as players adjust to alternate shots with their partner and try to remember whose turn it is to tee off on the next hole .   No such problems for our winning team of Chris Manktelow and Hugh Williams who enjoyed the format and scored a commendable 39 pts in the Stableford format.The foursomes round was a chance for the ladies to represent the club at the Doris Chambers Foursomes later in the golfing year and the clubhouse leader for that event was the team of Darlene Baker and Jenny Hartley 35 pts. The day’s results were;
1st; Chris Manktelow   (34)/Hugh Williams (20) – 39pts
2nd; Kath Jekabsons    (36)/Rob Slade (18) – 37pts
3rd;  Darlene Baker       (17)/Jenny Hartley (23) – 35pts
